Community Comments Help Scheme Move Ahead at Haddenham
Fri 12 May 2017
On Monday 8th May Haddenham CLT held a further public exhibition and consultation event for the community in the village. The event was an opportunity to feed back to the community on how their opinions on the site at West End, Haddenham had been taken into account. The scheme consists of 54 homes, 16 of which will be affordable rented homes to be owned and managed by the CLT on behalf of the local community.
Following comments from the previous public consultation event in December 2016 local architects, Saunders Boston, had amended the scheme to take account of the community feedback. Some of the changes presented include: amended housing mix to take better account of the need in the village, wider boundary between the new development and the existing retirement village, bungalows to the Southern and Eastern borders of the site to protect existing views, inclusion of a circular footpath around and through the site and improved green spaces.
Nearly 100 members of the community attended and took the opportunity to chat to the CLT Trustees, architects, local developers Palace Green Homes, a highways consultant and, of course, Debbie and Emily from CLT East. Haddenham CLT are especially pleased with how their membership base is growing, they now have over 100 members, and are excited about the opportunity to represent and champion their community. Early feedback from the event indicates that the large majority of people prefer the amended scheme and support the provision of affordable houses for local people in Haddenham.
The CLT are still collecting feedback, comments and opinions on the scheme until Monday 22nd May 2017, please click here to provide your feedback. After all comments have been collected and analysed the CLT will go back to the plans and make any necessary changes before taking a planning application forward later in 2017.
If you would like to join Haddenham CLT as a member or submit an Expression of Interest for one of the affordable properties please visit their website here. For more information on the scheme please visit the Palace Green Homes Projects page here.
